Did you know that under inflated tires cause over 10% of the highway tire blow outs per year? Low tire pressure also increases tire wear and stopping distance significantly. Not to mention the effect under inflation has on fuel economy.
As of 2008 all passenger motor vehicles and light duty trucks must be equipped with some type of tire pressure monitoring system if it is to be sold in North America. The majority of the tire pressure monitoring systems use a tire pressure sensor mounted inside of each of the vehicles wheels which in turn sends a remote signal to the tire pressure monitoring computer. If the pressure drops below a preset level or varies significantly between the other tires the computer illuminates the “low tire pressure” message and/or lamp.
If you have this warning indicator illuminated on your dash board don’t delay call or stop by Casullo’s for a free tire pressure system evaluation. You can’t afford not to!
